If you or someone close to you is affected by sarcoma, then why not come along to our support group.
Sarcomas are cancers of connective tissues and can affect bones, muscles, fatty tissue, cartilage, nerves etc. Together they form a large group of rare cancers that can be difficult to diagnose and awkward to treat.
This can lead to patients and their carers feeling isolated and anxious. The Sheffield Sarcoma Support Group aims to improve this situation by bringing patients, their loved ones and medical specialists together to share experiences and information. Enjoying days out and generally having fun are also planned! If you or anyone you know is affected by sarcoma, then you are very welcome to join the group.
The Support Group meets in Sheffield and is based around the specialist sarcoma treatment centre at the Weston Park and Royal Hallamshire Hospitals. Our meetings are generally held on the second Friday of alternate months.
Future meetings are planned for July 9, September 10 and November 12 2010.
