Registered address:The Sarcoma Trust, 49-51 East Road, London, N1 6AH

The Trust was launched on 13th July 2007 at the Team Sarcoma UK event held in Torquay. There has been a warm welcome for the Trust from within the patient community and fundraising is moving ahead with a lot of support.
The aim of The Sarcoma Trust is to be led by the priorities identified by patients and carers. The Trust currently has a number of specialist clinicians who advise its Trustees. A formal advisory panel will be created when the first research call is being planned and Professor Ian Judson of the Institute of Cancer Research has agreed to chair this panel.
The Sarcoma Trust has the following objectives:
a) to promote and protect the physical and mental health of patients with bone and soft tissue sarcomas in the United Kingdom through the provision of information, support, education and practical advice to them and their carers;
b) the relief of sickness and the preservation of health in particular by promoting and supporting research with the publication of the useful results thereof and the development of more effective treatment and care for patients with bone and soft tissue sarcomas;
c) to advance the education of the general public in all areas relating to sarcoma.
Work is underway on the awareness objective, although firm plans have yet to be made. The support objective is being handled by the two groups associated with the Trust - Sarcoma UK and GIST Support UK.
The Trustees are all cancer patients or carers, and bring their own working experience and professional background to their work. The Trustees are:
Lesley Abraham (a sarcoma survivor)
Karen Delin (a sarcoma survivor)
Peter Jay (a sarcoma survivor) (Chair)
Nicky Mellows (carer)
Judith Robinson (a GIST survivor)
Dennis Tye (carer)
Roger Wilson (a sarcoma survivor) (Secretary)
